Neige ! Luge !! Nikola et Meva !!!

C'était une belle journée aujourd'hui, ensoleillée, pas trop froide : idéale pour ... la luge !
La luge deux places est occupée par Nikola et moi :

Julien and Nikola (Part II)

Nikola is pretty friendly with Julien. She is always the first one telling us when Julien is crying, and she wants to her share to comfort him by gently rocking him. Even if she is a bit difficult these days, it's probably because of a combination of sickness, general fatigue after the holidays, change of rythm, and, maybe, a bit of jealousy... But this doesn't mean she is no fun at all...

Julien and Nikola (Part I)

Julien started smiling about a week ago, and yesterday has... found his thumb. Of course he has a loooong way to go before becoming a thumb-sucking master like Nikola, but it comes pretty handy when going to sleep... Last but not least, he drank from the bottle (filled with Jaye's milk) yesterday for the first time, and it went quite well. After being a bit confused initially, he got it and drank a fair amount while Jaye was at the hairdresser. A first step towards more freedom for Jaye!

Le réveillon du nouvel an

En dehors de la luge, l'activité phare de la semaine, pour Nikola, fut sans conteste la décoration des biscuits :

Au menu du repas de réveillon, qui a réuni Ron, Linda, Jaye, Olivier, Nikola et Julien :

1) foie gras et Sauternes,

2) Blanquette de veau et riz (Olivier et "sous-chef" Ron)

3) Plum Pudding flambé maison (Jaye)

Après ce repas pantagruelique (comme il se devait), tout le monde est allé se coucher légèrement trop tôt pour veiller jusqu'en 2008 !

Il est arrivé !

Eh bien, ce fut un bien bel accouchement ! Que d'émotions ! Ça valait la peine d'attendre ...

Quand on lui a annoncé que son petit frère arrivait, Nikola est devenue très sérieuse et a répondu "I have to think". On dirait que soit elle n'a pas terminé sa réflexion, soit elle est arrivée à une conclusion satisfaisante. En tout cas, vous pourrez juger par vous-même par la dernière photo de la collection, prise ce soir après notre retour de l'hôpital.

La question de la semaine est sans consteste ... est-ce qu'il est sorti ???

Eh bien non, chers lecteurs, il n'est pas encore sorti ...

Par contre, j'ai "sorti" quelques photos de mon appareil et les ai ajoutées à l'Album Web de Nikola. Voir le lien à gauche, en bas.

Getting Ready for the Jour J

Papa and maman have bought a car (a Toyota Matrix), and a brand new bugaboo stroller (the store clerk was pretty amazed when papa handed out his 3 bébé+ gift certificates! She had to do some cash-register-gymnastics because apparently it was the first time someone used more than one).
Maman has bought the last few tiny little pieces of clothing, while papa (with Evan's help) put together a closet using a Home Depot closet kit.
Nikola is also doing her part, using the potty and putting on her underpants "all by (her)self"!
The picture shows one of the baby showers that now constitutes the only kind of outing that the family now is allowing itself, in order to STAY FOCUSED.

Papa et maman ont acheté une Toyota Matrix et une poussette, toutes deux toutes neuves. Maman a acheté les derniers vêtements qui manquaient pendant que papa a monté les penderies.
Nikola fait aussi sa part, en utilisant le pot et en mettant ses culottes "toute seule".
La photo montre l'un des "baby showers" qui constituent désormais les seules sorties que nous nous autorisons, pour rester concentrés !
